The AGCA Secretariat is initiating an online learning series ‘Samwad (Dialogue)’ to provide a platform for the states governments to share their good practices on community processes, learn from each other’s experiences, and promote adoption and replicate the good practices within the National Health Mission (NHM). Given the context, the first Samwad on ‘Process of formation of Jan Arogya Samitis (JASs) at the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Odisha’ will be organised on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 3.00 PM to 4.00 PM.

The 43rd AGCA meeting will be held at the PFI office on October 6, 2021 from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM. The officials from the MoHFW, NHSRC, AGCA Members, and the AGCA Secretariat staff will participate.
An online orientation on Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) members of the district hospitals of 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh is planned to be organized on March 6, 2021 (Saturday) between 10.00 AM to 12.00 noon. The orientation will focus on the basic steps to be followed in planning and taking decisions at the meeting to improve the utilization of RKS funds at the district hospital.
The AGCA Secretariat with support from the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare (SIHFW) is organising block level Jan Samwads under Community Action for Health (CAH) as detailed below. The trained district officials on CAH will facilitate the Jan Samwads, which will be chaired by the Chief Medical Health Officers (CMHO) of the respective district. Local health issues emerged from the review of CAH process will be discussed and resolved in the Jan Samwads. Participants in the Jan Samwads will be: Reproductive and Child Health Officer (RCHO), District Programme Management Unit, Block Chief Medical Officer, Block ASHA Supervisors, PHC Medical Officer In-charge, PHC Health Supervisors, ANMs/LHVs, AWWs, PRI members, and the community.
A two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) on Community Action for Health for urban regions of Gujarat: Ahmedabad region on August 6-7, 2019 and Gandhinagar region on August 8-9, 2019 will be organised. The participants in the ToT will be: Urban PHC Medical Officers, District Urban Programme Coordinators, Corporation Programme Coordinators, Public Health Managers, Programme Assistants (District Urban Health Unit/Corporation Programme Management Unit).
A district level Jan Samwaad has been scheduled to be organised at five regional headquarters of Jharkhand (Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Deoghar, Palamu and West Singhbhum) from June 26 to 29, 2019. It is being jointly organised by the National Health Mission, Jharkhand and the Social Audit Unit of Rural Development Department, Jharkhand.
The Meghalaya Society for Social Audit and Transparency (MSSAT) in coordination with state NHM is undertaking social audit on health services in 11 districts across 13 blocks and 1,957 villages from April 24, 2019 to September 30, 2019.
The State NHM Goa is organising ToT on strengthening Rogi Kalyan Samitis in North Goa district. Medical Officers, ANMs and MPWs will participate in the ToTs. Saurabh Raj (AGCA Secretariat) will co-facilitate the training along with the State NHM team.

The State Health Systems Resource Centre, Pune is organising a Mahila Arogya Samiti (MAS) Knowledge Sharing Workshop in Pune on October 16, 2018. Representatives from six states : Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will share their experiences on strengthening community processes in urban areas. Seema Upadhyay (AGCA Secretariat) will speak on potential areas of MAS strengthening and sustainability in the current context.
A Jan Samwaad will be organised at the Additional Primary Health Centre, Rajauli Block, Nawada District on September 28, 2018. Community members will participate to share their experiences and feedback on health services with the block and district level government officials.

Population Foundation of India will organise training of the RKS members from 9 Community Health Centres of Lucknow district in Uttar Pradesh. The participants in the training programme will include the following: Hospital in Charges, Non-Governmental Members, Ex –Officio Members from the Departments of Public Health Engineering, Women and Child Development, Education, Block Program Managers, Block Community Processes Managers and Blocks Accounts Managers, Hospital Accountants/Clerks maintaining RKS records.
Population Foundation of India will organise training of the RKS members from the 10 district and 8 Sub district hospitals of Lucknow district in Uttar Pradesh. The participants in the training programme will include the following: District Chief Medical Officer, Hospital in Charges, Hospital Managers, Non-Governmental Members, Ex –Officio Members from Departments of Public Health Engineering, Women and Child Development, Education, Public Works, District Program Manager, District Community Processes Manager, District Accounts Manager, Hospital Accountants/Clerks maintaining RKS records.
Assam is implementing the community action for health (CAH) with ASHA Supervisors as key facilitators of the processes. The state has completed the trainings of the ASHA supervisors in CAH. During the visit, Dr M Prakasamma, AGCA member and Seema Upadhyay, AGCA Secretariat will provide supportive supervision and guidance to the community processes team and share the field experiences with the Mission Director and state NHM team. Jan Samwad will be organized in Rajauli block of Nawada district in Bihar on March, 26, 2018. The local community members will participate and voice the problems faced by them in accessing the health services. The panchayati raj representatives and government officials will readdress their issues.
The AGCA will have meetings with the team of Karnataka Health System Resource centre and State NHM to plan the implementation of community action for health in FY 2018-19.
In Kawakol, Block Planning and Monitoring Committee (BPMC) with support of the Primary Health Centre is organising Jan Samwad on March 21, 2018. In the public dialogue, local people of the area will participate and the government officials will address their health issues.
The Advisory Group on Community Action (AGCA) on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) is organizing a one day National Consultation on Community Action for Health on January 24, 2018 at the India International Centre, New Delhi.
The consultation is expected to deliberate on the following:
Share promising practices on community action and accountability
Share innovations and progress in the implementation of Community Action for Health (CAH) processes in the states
Identify key challenges/solutions
Provide recommendations and strategies for effective scaling up of CAH under the National Health Mission.
Officials from the MoHFW, National Health Systems Resource Centre, AGCA members, State NHM Mission Directors, State Nodal Officers and the Civil Society Organisations from across the country will participate in the consultation.
The 37th AGCA Meeting will be held at the PFI Office on December 7, 2017 from 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM. The officials from the Ministry and the NHSRC, the AGCA Members and the AGCA Secretariat staff will attend the meeting.
